Oprah wintrey was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi. (Oprah winfrey lahir di Kosciusko, Mississippi. )

She lived in great poverty and often had to dress in potato sacks for which she was mocked at school.(Dia hidup dalam kemiskinan yang parah dan sering harus berpakaian dalam karung kentang yang mana ia diejek di sekolah.)

From the age of 14 she went to live with her father. (Sejak usia 14 dia pergi (dr ibunya) untuk tinggal bersama ayahnya.)

Oprah says he was strict, but she was in the mood to be disobedient during her teenage years. Oprah mengatakan wataknya ayahnya keras, tapi suasana hati/jiwanya oprah tidak menjadikan ia tidak patuh selama masa remajanya.

she became interested in journalism and media and got her first job as a news anchor for a local TV station. (Dia menjadi tertarik dalam jurnalisme dan media dan mendapatkan pekerjaan pertamanya sebagai pembawa berita di sebuah stasiun TV lokal.)

Her emotional style did not go down well for a news programme so she was transferred to an ailing daytime chat programme. (Gaya emosionalnya tidak cocok untuk sebuah program berita jadi dia dipindahkan ke program obrolan siang hari yg skt.)

Oprah Winfrey was also nominated for an Oscar in the film – A Color Purple.
