E. Holboell
One December night, a postman named E. Holboell was working late in Copenhagen Post Office sorting out great pile for Christmas mail. (Suatu malam di bulan Desember, seorang tukang pos bernama E. Holboell sedang bekerja hingga larut di Kantor Pos Kopenhagen memilah tumpukan besar untuk surat Natal.)
As he moved around among his mailbags, he happened to see two little beggars, a ragged little girl and boy outside the Window. Thinking of the two children compassionately, he went back to the stackS letters and parcels.
Suddenly he had an idea. He thought how if every letter of parcel carried an extra stamp, and the money from thousands of such stamps went to help unfortunate children. (Tiba-tiba dia punya ide.
What a blessing it would be! Being a postman, he realized that it would not cost anyone very much.
He expressed his idea to other people in the post office. Then they agreed to launch the campaign to help unlucky children.
They designed and printed the seals. Then they promoted the campaign by explaining it to the public, who would buy the seals.
So the seals went on sell the following year and the campaign was even more successful than the postman had hoped.
The Danes bought four million of the stickers. At that time, when drivers for funds were almost unheard of, this was a triumph.(Orang Denmark membeli empat juta stiker/perangko.
With funds from the first two Christmas Seal Campaigns, they started to build two hospitals for treatment of tubercular children. Dengan dana dari dua Kampanye segel/sticker Natal pertama, mereka mulai membangun dua rumah sakit untuk pengobatan anak tuberkuler (penyakit TBC).
It was the beginning of the movement to get ordinary citizens to take
part in fighting that infectious disease, one which, at that time, was the leading cause of mortality(Itu adalah awal dari gerakan untuk menarik warga biasa ikut bagian dalam memerangi penyakit menular itu, yang pada saat itu merupakan penyebab utama kematian.)

The King’s New Clothes
Once there was a king who loved new clothes. One day two men came to the castle and told the king, “For two bags of gold, we are going to make you some beautiful, magic clothes. Only you are going to be able to see them.”
The king was very excited. The men said, “Your clothes are going to be finished in two weeks, on July 14.” The king went to his calendar and marked July fourteenth to be a holiday. “Everyone is going to celebrate my new clothes with me,” he said.
On July sixth, the king went to see the two men. They worked fast and hard, but the king didn’t see any clothes. The men said, “Remember, these are magic clothes.”
On July fourteenth, the king’s magic clothes were ready. After two men helped the king get dressed, the king rode into town. He wanted everyone to see his magic clothes. The people were surprised. There were no clothes to see! A small boy said, “The king isn’t wearing any clothes!” The king looked at himself and quickly rode back to his castle. He looked for the two men, but they and the gold were gone. “I was very foolish,” said the king.
